Viton FEP Encapsulated O-Rings comprise of an elastomer core which has been seamlessly encapsulated in a jacket of Teflon® fluroropolymer. The core is Viton® (FKM) and the jacket is FEP. The main advantage Encapsulated O-Rings have over solid PTFE O-Rings is that they can return to the O-Ring’s original form due to its energising core.

FEP Encapsulated O-Rings are recommended for use in:
Automotive Components, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Processing and Production, Oil Extraction (onshore and offshore), Petrochemical Refining, Pharmaceutical Production, Food / Drink Processing, Paint / Die Manufacturing, Cosmetics and Perfumery.

We do not recommend FEPs where the housing design requires excessive stretch or collapse of the O-ring during installation.
